8x4 Combination Vehicle
My role on this project was as follows
1. - Assist in the sales process
Review initial tender and complete preliminary design of vehicle
Complete initial weight and driveline calculations
Estimate cost and prepare quotation
2. - Complete detailed design
3D modelled and designed all aspects of the finished vehicle
Finalise weight calculations & driveline design
Present completed design to client for review
Prepare detailed construction drawings, component details and parts lists
3. - Assist workshop with fabrication
Assist workshop using fabrication, troubleshooting all issues that arose during build
4. - Design Electrical & Control Systems
Specify all components of the control system (sensors, PLC's LCD screens etc)
Programmed PLC and Screens
Worked with auto-electrician to commission system
5. - Prepare operation and maintenance manual, and specify maintenance plan for vehicle
Key Achievement
Designed a number of new systems to meet the requirements of the new vehicle, with minimal to no proto-typing for new components
